Your role and responsibilities
Your main tasks are assisting the childcare teachers and providing a safe and clean environment for everyone. Tasks such as: preparing meals, feeding children, nappy changing, supervising children, physically preparing activities for children, laundry, shopping and cleaning.
Useful to know
This program is mainly set up for internationals, such as expat spouses, who live in the Eindhoven region.
What we provide
A workplace in a daycare center minimum of 8 hours a week in agreement with your employer
Multiple visits by the educator (Summa College) to your place of work for guidance and coaching
Coaching by a childcare teacher or a manager at your place of work. Your employer will give you
a letter of intent for continued employment after the apprenticeship
An eight day course, spread out over eight to nine weeks, at Summa College, Eindhoven.
The course contains subjects such as
Coaching/instructing children in their development and ensuring a safe pedagogical environment
Taking stock of the needs and wishes of the child
Creating a responsible and stimulating play/learning environment
Providing personal care
Ensuring a hygienic and healthy environment
During all course days you will attend Dutch classes. You will practice basic Dutch which is needed in a daycare center and when communicating with colleagues and children.
You should have
Good social skills
A caring and nurturing nature
A helpful attitude
Certificate of good conduct
A plan to stay in the Netherlands for at least 3 years.
